Some people posted urls on my forum, but when they are shortened the link gets messed up. For example when I post http://codex.simple-press.com/.....e-plugins/
It becomes http://codex.simple-press.com/cod.... ilable-plugins/
And then only the first part is clickable with a non existing target url.

unfortunately, the url shortening works fine... its the make clickable part that occasionally fails... and that is done by WP (its one of their functions)... and a known issue for them with certain characters in the text (ie a full stop)...
no clue why you would be having an issue with the url you listed though - works fine for me on test sites and here

do you have any other plugins that might affect links in post/page content of wp?
and we are looking for a better make clickable function/library than the wp one... but no luck yet... still looking...

yes, I know... its because of french character that was in the link... as I mentioned, the wp make clickable fails on some characters...
until we find a better one than the wp make clickable function, not much we can do... you could disable the url shortener if its occurring too much...
