Hi guys,
I had a spammer who managed to get through the spam filter somehow, and then he posted 98 replies to existing threads.
I thought there was some admin function where I could delete all posts associated with a user, but I was unable to find it. In desperation, I tried deleting the user and that didn't prompt me to get rid of their posts! So now I have a deleted user and 98 crap posts sprawled across my forum.
How can I clean this up?
How can I deal with this in the future?
Afraid there is no way to delete mass posts by a user like that from the admin...
you could do it with a db query via phpmyadmin though...
if you delete a user, there posts are reverted to being from guests... we have an open ticket to offer more options, such as removing the posts... no ETA, but we have talked about it recently and wp just added a hook we had requested to allow this, so its something we want to do...
was this a user? a real person or bot? there are captcha and math question options.. also, if you have the admin bar plugin, you can run all posts through akismet... and the admin bar can also help with handling new spam post (ie quickly deleting)...

First, you would have to have Akismet enabled in admin bar... Then post would be marked as spam... And then on admin bar, one button would say remove user and posts...
