Thank you for the reply. Actually after my last post I had started to disable all the WP plugins to check if any of them causing the issue. Finally I found that the plugin 'Embedly' was causing the problem. After disabling this and enable the other plugins now all the editor functionalities are working. I'll do further rigorous testing and post if I come across any other issues.

ah, good digging.. not familiar with that plugin... what does it do?  do you need it for operation of other things?  what would it do on the forum page?

does the plugin offer options for disabling on specific wp pages?  there are plugins that offer this functionality for any plugin..
