Hey Shannon,
First of all, it's worth me pointing out that Simple:Press doesn't send emails, it's all handled by WorPress..
WordPress is notoriously bad at sending emails.. We always recommend using a SMTP plugin which should fix the problem. In the past we've used HGK SMTP, and recently lots of people have had great success with the Postman SMTP mailer plugin, both available free from the WP plugin repository.
It's worth noting also that the latest version of WordPress no longer sends passwords in emails, instead the emails contain a link to retrieve details.
Hope that helps!
Ike I installed Postman SMTP mailer plugin and this seems to be running fine but people still can not login to my forum. They don,t know what there password is, no emails, no links nothing. Any other idea's on how to fix this.
When they Register for the site, the forum shows them as a new Member and I the admin gets a email saying there is a new member on the site. The members just don't know there password!
users register and log into the wordpress site, not the forum... when a user registers, wordpress sends them an email to a link on your site where they can retrieve their password...
as mentioned in previous post, wp can be bad, especially on shared hosting, with sending emails because of the email address used...
you might check with your host to see if and why your server might be blocking the sending of emails by wordpress...
I assume you configured and tested the smtp plugin Ike mentioned?
