Users with "-1" posts

Hi there,

Prior to a recent update we used to have Users that displayed as having "-1" posts. Since we do a lot of manually tracking statistics (sidebar: would love a stats/reports add-on :D), we noticed this, and found it helpful. Seemed that anyone with "-1" posts had of course registered an account, but not actually used their log-in credentials.

However, since a recent update it seems all the "-1" posts went to 0. Is there any easy way to get that back?

I am not sure where you were seeing it bit I do recall there was at least one view that displayed it as a -1. The problem was that it confused people. Some thought it was a bug. So we changed it. But the underlying data in the database table (sfmembers) still records the -1 until they visit the forum.

So if you know your way around SQL it is easy to write a small query to list such users.

Describe the content of your stats plugin if you would...

Hi @yellow-swordfish and thanks for the reply. We're working on behalf of an end-client in this situation. I assumed the -1 was a "bug" fix due to exactly the reasons you gave. As a technical person, knowing what the -1 indicates is helpful. (In fact, the end-client had figured it out and was using it for that info). I told them that the -1 going away was likely a fix that would not be reversed, but that I would ask. I was of course, right, but am happy that I can go back to them and say "working as intended, would you like custom code written?" The answer to which will most likely be "no thanks." 😀

As far as the stats or analytics, that topic came up a couple months ago, so I don't recall exactly. Generally they were looking to track things like users, hits, views, posts, registrations, un-confirmed regs, by day, week, month. Those kinds of "usage" statistics. The forum is a way for them to be "the place to discuss XXXX and related topics" and then "oh by the way, while you are here..."  I think in general to see how much traffic they were generating (i.e. value-added to their site).

but the -1 is still there... we just don't show it any more since it confused too many folks...  so you could very simply still get the info you had before...
