Was the ability to view post edits added in the RC? I don't recall it being in earlier versions. Are these stored in the DB similar to WP post revisions? If so, how can they be disabled?
While I am sure that a few folks may find some use for this, I'd really love to see a lighter/smaller SPF with fewer features, more in keeping with WP's concept of "decisions, not options." Just looking at the backend to see if I could find a setting for this before I posted, it struck me that there is a setting for everything. I am fairly certain I saw a setting for the time I wanted SPF to auto-brew my morning coffee, but I just can't remember on which screen I saw that
We do not store the edits anywhere - only the fact that an edit was made - who by and at what time. And this has been in SP for many versions now.
If you want to remove the popup display option for this just remove it from the spTopicView template. Function sp_PostIndexEditHistory()

Is there a way to disable the saving of the edit history?
If no, I'd seriously consider just storing the last edit info, rather than an unlimited set. I don't think there's a benefit to knowing that a post had 10 edits vs 1, especially when one can't learn the substance of the change.
