Support Forum
Hey guys,
We recently upgraded out wordpress and simple:forum. I'll walk you through the steps I took. The old wordpress version was 2.8 or 2.9 and the simple:press was called simple:forum i think and it was 4.2 or 4.3
This was a complete migration to a new wordpress install. So I copied the simple:forum database tables from the old site to the new database. I also copied the folders in wp-content to the new system. I then followed the instructions for a manual upgrade from this article http://codex.simple-press.com/.....rsion-4-5/.
From the backed sp-admin everything looks like it work. the permissions are all set correctly. But for some reason a guest can post/delete/edit posts and when I'm logged in as an admin it give me a 'The requested group does not exist or you do not have permission to view it' message and I can't even see the boards. Also when visiting the site as guest alot of the old posts are there but the content doesn't show up. just a bunch of blank posts.
THe sp-admin > toolbox > error log has a bunch of these
'file: /simple-press/sp-api/sp-api-auths.php
line: 33
function: sp_get_auth
Notice | Trying to get property of non-object'
I can let you see the site if that helps but I've spent a good 24 hours trying to debug this to no success. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
