what type of log in widget does simple press use?

I'd like to know what type of log in simple press uses that displays "log in to simple press and join the community" when not logged in and membership details when logged in. And also does a neat drop down for logging in. I too have wishlist member but would like to know if simple press' log in is a widget, plugin or what...

its just a custom, hand written plugin for the login button and form... then just another button with link to sign up page...
