I've read quite a bit here on this topic, what's the latest?

Can I safely continue using Yoast? Any special configs recommended?

Thanks much.

yes, I use yoast on a couple of sites...  works fine with sitemaps...  just don turn on the ugly permalink options (he recommends against anyways)...

So, as we've been creating and testing, I've had the Yoast no-follow and sitemap settings config'd to avoid search engine crawling...

When we go live -- I'll reverse the above settings. Are there any Simple:Press configs we need to change related to crawling, sitemaps, etc. ?

no, not really... I would recommend a daily sitemap build vs every new topic, but with yoast, you probably have it set on dynamically building anyways...

(sitemap confusion)  I checked the Codex (http://codex.simple-press.com/?s=sitemap) and it looks to me like the Simple:Press sitemap settings won't display unless Google Sitemap is installed. Is that true?

We utilize Yoast for our sitemaps, so I was under the impression the Simple:Press posts would be included in the Yoast sitemaps.   True?

Please clarify. Thanks.

Late-breaking update... I installed your 'Sitemap' plugin and I see it plays with Yoast.  I'll monitor the sitemaps ...

yes, only certain sitemap settings are displayed if google sitemap wp plugin is not there...

As I said, if you are using yoast, you dont need to select a frequency... they will get included anyways whenever yoast builds the sitemap... it adds a new sub sitemap, forum-sitemap.xml... keep in mind, yoast does not actually create a sitemap, but builds it on demand with url rewriting...

are you having problems? I actually havent used it lately since I prefer all in one seo, but we have lots of users using it and no issues have been reported.... unless you are first ;)

Yoast is now displaying the Simple:Press sitemap -- forum-sitemap.xml --  on it's list.

However, the sitemap is blank.
Please see view-source screenshot >> http://screencast.com/t/WiJZMGC6

Any suggestions?
Thanks.

just to be sure the rewrite rules are correct, can you load up the wp settings - permalink page and then try again?

I will open a ticket to verify that something has not changed in yoast too...  but will be on business trip next week so following weekend at earliest that I can look into...
