sorry - confused... you cannot moderate posts from the dashboard... you do that from the admin bar or the forum tools... where do we say dashboard??
each moderator and admin chooses whether or not they see the admin bar... and remember a wp admin is not an sp admin or moderator unless you make them one...
and if you reply as admin or moderator to a post in moderation, it will also approve the post - as you say, if enabled to do so...
are you saying that posts in moderation were not shown in the admin bar? if so, would be the first such report ever of that...

Sorry - You did not - I assumed that bit (a bit like how WP got a Comments section on their dashboard).

No - I meant when I log on as one of the SP moderator, I don't see the admin bar -
I now changed the permission of the forum so it is Standard as opposed to Limited - so dont need moderation.

for that moderator, had they enabled the admin bar in their admin options? forum - admins - your admin options... but you must be logged in as that user to see their options... each admin/moderator has that option page uniquely to them...
