Support Forum
Hi.
Just wondering why the newest members are NOT showing up correctly in the footer.

Thanks,

the stats is cached... typically one hour to update...
if its longer than that, then you might be having wp cron issues... check forum - toolbox - cron inspector and see if the sph_stats_cron is listed...

Yes it's listed.

Any idea why it's showing members that joined in Nov 2012 ?
so indicates a potential problem with your wp cron on the site... can you create a blog post and schedule it for 10 minutes in the future? and see if it shows up...
also, on the forum - toolbox - cron inspector panel, go ahead and do a single run of the stats... the lower left input area... put in sph_stats_cron and execute it... see if the stats update...
a little worried about wordfence... have heard of it causing problems with stuff in being overzealous...

1. Yes it does create a test page after 10 min
2. I ran sph_stats_cron but did not see any difference.
3. I did update wordfence about 30 min before this happened but I had wordfence longer than I had simple press.
4. It seem to start when installing the plugins for simple press..
Here are the new ones I downloaded and installed.
template-tags.zip
answers-topic.zip
online.zip
unanswered.zip
I did get an error with the answers_topic.zip but after I uploaded temple-tags the error went away. But this is when my troubles started.
This is when my integrations changed and I had to go in and reset it.
I am trying to disable these plugins...
I am having issues with who's online plugin every time I try to disable I am getting a 404 page.. the other ones disabled fine.
So I uninstalled it.. Once again all my forum pages are not working correctly.. (Who's Online) plugin is to blame.
I just reset my Integrations and all my forum pages are working again..
Looking at the error log I see this..
file: /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/trafficb/public_html/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/sp-api/sp-api-primitives.php
line: 396
function: spdb_table
error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'AND post_id=0 AND message='The topic title was edited for your topic'' at line 1
SELECT notice_id FROM fcoci_sfnotices WHERE user_id= AND post_id=0 AND message='The topic title was edited for your topic'
This is about the time I installed the plugins the first time.
Thanks,
David
Who's Online: I suppose it may be possible that the copy you downloaded is corrupted in some way. It is quite a popular plugin (and we use it here on this site also) and this is the only report of an issue with it. I just performed a test all the same without incident. Might be worth removing the plugin files and downloading a fresh copy. If that also causes an issue then we may need to search for a conflict of some kind perhaps with another WordPress component you have active.
The SQL Error: It's a curious error and again I will test that out later but it is 100% harmless and of no relevance to any of your other issues. Unless it repeats over and over....
You did say:
I did update wordfence about 30 min before this happened but I had wordfence longer than I had simple press.
Can you explain what you mean by that please? Before what happened? Do you mean before the new members list stopped last November?
sph_stats_cron: Again - no reports of problems specifically with this task. Usually when there are problems it is with WP Cron generally which can be very fickle as the WP support forums will show! But as you successfully scheduled a blog post your underlying Cron system seems to be working.
So the issue is why is cron working but this particular task not working? I think an obvious first and simple question has to be in regard to Wordfence. Does it check calls to cron tasks in some way and perhaps block them if it believes they are not kosher. They are, at the end of the day, just functions that perform a task but who knows what lies under the hood of Wordfence!
Additionally - please do clear out your SP error log (available on the Toolbox menu) and then register a new user to see if any errors are generated. Then after that - run the spf_stats_cron task again and then again check for any errors. When you run the cron task can you make sure to type the name into the input box and not paste it from the clipboard please.

I updated WordFence because there was a new update...
Here is what I done so far.
1. Disabled WordFence
2. Disabled All Simple-Press Plugins
3. Empty the Errors
4. Create new user... - No Errors btw.. but no icons show in form on index page. Except for the very top one.. because I just set that one.. all the others were set a long time ago..

5. Ran sph_stats_cron making sure to type it in and not use the clipboard.
6. I looked in wp-config.php and I did not see anything a that would stop cron or disable cron.
7. I have noticed that the icons on the front of the fourm do not show for normal users but one account they do show up..

I have no idea why...
Still No joy on this.
Thanks,
David

Can we do the icons in the other thread and do members list here?
The new user that you created.... did you do that using the WordPress admin 'Add New User' or are you using some sort of membership plugin or registration plugin?
It's using a membership plugin for aMember
I have wordpress signup disabled.
