why don't my smilies appear?

i've just added a new smiley pack to /wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys and when you go to the forum API you can see all of them listed. however, when you login to make a post on the forum, you can only see the standard smilies you get with the theme

On the smileys admin panel have you, in fact, filled in all the details - the code and options etc?

yes i had them set but i can see my really dumb mistake rolleys if you look in this print screen below everything had shifted over so nothing was in line with the column headings. so, i didn't see the "in use" button. sorry for being dumb! all smileies work now laugh
