My guess is you will have no problem. I am running 5.2.16 without an issue. 5.2.17 had only one bug fix.

we just picked the same php requirement as wp...  we have not tested with lower versions, other than Brandon, I guess ;)...  but if you wp works without meeting the requirements, you might be okay...
