I tried to assign a test badge that I added (Manual Adjustment by Admin) but I get that no user has yet earned this badge.

Perhaps you would be best off looking into the available options in the WP plugin repository,

Obviously I have and this is why I said above that I don't believe that badges are supported for SP. I usually only ask for help after doing my best to figure things out for myself.

Seems like the "Badges" only work with BuddyPress and bbPress.

Below, instructions from the plugin: (https://mycred.me/add-ons/badges/) See no. 2

Setup
  1. Enable the “Badges” add-on on the “Add-ons” sub-menu page in the “myCRED” menu.
  2. Visit the “Settings” sub-menu page and click on “Badges” to view the default settings. Note that if you do not have BuddyPress AND bbPress enabled, no settings will be available.
  3. Select if you want badges to be shown in a users Buddypress or bbPress profile.
  4. Save.

In post #72 I was meaning other third party plugin options.

If the WP Cred plugin explicitly only allows these to be created if you are using bbPress or BuddyPress then there is probably very little we can do about it... although the author could be asked - perhaps - to extend this to SP as well.

I am not trying to be difficult but I can not possibly have knowledge of all of the thousands of WP plugins available and when it comes to the sort of plugin you are looking for I have absolutely none as I have never needed to look for one. But - as we said - if it does what you need and we can tap into the APi of the plugin then we should be able to expose things within the SP boundary for you fairly easily.

How hard would it be for you guys to develop a plugin that could add badges/awards/trophies/icons to the users profile. My needs are simple. It could show up anywhere as far as I'm concerned.

I didn't feel that you were being difficult. I always appreciate all you guys do for us. :) I figured that developers at BuddyPress AND bbPress worked on the badges. I didn't realize it would need to happen at the mycred back end.

Is there another way to do this? Perhaps additional signatures like your yellow swordfish but controlled strictly by the administrator?

have you looked at the special ranks??  seems what you are asking for...  admin determines who gets a special rank... each special rank has a badge...  badges can be displayed in profile or elsewhere...  your gold badge for example here is a special rank...

That sounds perfect. I checked the "Ranks" on MyCred but (Minimum Points to reach this rank) and (Maximum Points to be included in this rank) doesn't suit my purpose.

Which plugin are you referring to?

That is Brilliant. I'm already using ranks and didn't realize that there were more options below. Thanks so much Steve. You're the mannnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!

Now to find some great graphic art for our new upcoming badges.

I didn't think of Special Ranks. I was still thinking you needed something that awarded something to finally achieve something else!
