Hello again :)

can you guys help me out to finding the solution to this problem?

When I use the forums embed video for YouTube videos it only shows the video in Safari and Chrome. I can't get it to show in IE & FireFox.

I embed the video with the iFrame option and paste the URL from the YouTube video.

Here's a demonstration of a topic with YouTube embedded;

Thanks,

Adam.

Hey,

I was using the 'Insert / edit embbed media' in the posts tool bar and selecting the iframe option and adding the YouTube video URL.

I have just made another top here;

https://www.a4service.co.uk/fo.....test/#p359

by pasting only the YouTube URL and it displays no problem, but again only in Chrome and Safari.

The space is there and where the video should be I can see the link as I hover over it but the video isn't displayed!

well you can only use iframes if you have given permissions for users to use iframes which can be a security risk...

Still confused... are you saying that the wp oembed doesnt work for you?  just  pasting the url?  not the embed, but the url

http ://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZOqhPbj7rs (url with extra space so it doesnt embed)

ahhh yes, I've just realised it's throughout mysite that using either iframe or wp embed isn't displaying the videos on IE or Firefox! Any ideas what this could be before I do a huge google search? lol

No matter, I've managed to use an alternative solutions instead of just figuring out the problem lol, If i put YouTube's embed iframe code into the post 'edit HTML source' it works fine :)

Got it! It's because of the https on my site, IE and firefox seem to block the videos from youtube unless both the site and youtube video URL's are http.

Just need to figure out a solution now as I dont want my whole site to be without ssl.

good detective though a bit surprised that FF would block it.. is a browser setting?  are you using a plugin for wp for https/ssl?

hey,

I've got an SSL certificate installed on the server. I did some research and the newest version of FF blocks all mixed content automatically, I'm guessing this is the same with IE as replacing everything to http fix it both.
