no plugin needed... and very simple... just paste in the url to the video... not an embed, not an iframe, but the url to the video, the page you are on...
and it will get embedded all by itself...

I noticed this handy way of embedding YouTube videos too, part of the Jetpack WP plugin, doing away with my old plugin.
But, as discussed on a previous thread, where I was advised that there could be security issues if using <iFrame>, but I noticed that if you copy and paste the YouTube link onto a SP post and then view it in edit mode, you see that it automatically coded an iFrame
I take it that this automatic coding is safe?
depends on if you trust WP... since its all done within WP core, only those iframes are allowed... users cannot add iframes to do what they want... so yeah, I would consider it safe...
and btw, that ability is part of wp core... jetpack is not needed to gain that functionality...

What a dedicated team! An answer in minutes!
I didn't know that WP had added that function, I've been using a WP YouTube plugin since last year and I assumed it was part of Jetpack.
Well, I'll take the chance, but I've converted my other non-YouTube links to text links, since they're not supported by WP.
Certainly much easier - and now I can get rid of my dedicated audio plugin too because of Jetpack (or has that feature already installed in WP). It alll helps as I'm trying to cutback on the amount of WP plugins I have.
I hope you all had a good Christmas
I am unsure about the audio... I dont think that is in core yet nor planned... but one never knows...
sometimes I think we are looney for the time we spend on SP!

YouTube embed works great on first post
however....
when we go back in to edit the post, for example... make changes ( not to the video ), and then "save edited post", the video gets stripped out, and I have to go back in, find the URL and re-paste it into the post to get it back.
Is there a way to fix this?
