Hi,
I noticed that the admin bar has an akismet option. Does this plugin automatically integrate akismet or do you need to install the standalone akismet plugin and register a key as well? Also, is the akismet fee associated with the simple-press plugin (I am creating a business site getting an akismet key means paying $5/mo).

Well - the theory is that it can function with any Akismet that is operational as long as that Akismet has an API key. So - it should just work. I have not had reported problems from users with an Akismet paid for license but there again we may not have had any! But I think you will be fine.
