The admin bar shows 0 post need moderation; however, there is 1 post waiting for approval.

We have no known problems with that. Before doing anything I think this could well be a symptom of your scripting conflicts - see your other thread. Those need to be sorted out first...

I did another post and now the count shows 1. (but it should be 2 now)
The other post was before I enable the plugin. Does that make any different?
I am not using any wordpress cache plugins in this moment.

Ah yes - that would be the problem. The admin bar plugin retains a list of new posts needing attention. That first post would have not been in the list with the plugin not active.
