If you missed my update to last post, my avatar here is only 1.6k.. you want them small or else the topic view can take longer to load because of a bunch of big avatars... 10k is actually quite large for an avatar...
and remember, its NOT the dimensions... 50x50 is fine... its the filesize... so resolution or # of colors in the image...

I had the same problem so after I read this threat here I went back and check from the downloaded page because I knew that my plugin file was named as online1.
So found out that my computer saved the file as online1 because I already had a file with the name "online".
Now after change the name of the file to online plugin is working as should

The problem is that the WordPress uploader sometimes - but not always - fails to delete the uploaded files in the /wp-content/uploads/ folder so that if a second copy is uploaded (in the same month) it ends up with an ever incrementing number on the end of the folder name.
