first, shorcodes are identical to the template functions... its just another way of doing the same thing depending on where you are doing it... reply to one your statements in post 11...
will try to take a look at this later tonight or tomorrow morning... will have to do some set up to individually test...

looks like there are 4 of the template tags in the plugin (not just shortcode) in the plugin that need to be fixed up... they were knocked in the latest release a few days ago....
will get them fixed up...

Thanks for fixing this, Steve. This resolves all my issues with the template tags plugin. It's working great for me now. I do realize that short codes do the same thing as template functions. But I'm not quite ready to start playing with the template files. I'm sure I'll get there eventually, but for now I'm content to work with the short codes since they are giving me what I need right now.
