Support Forum
Hey guys, First of all I want to tell you what a fantastic forum plug-in this has become. It was good before but now it is great..... Hope you get a lot of memberships.
Yesterday I moved my site to a dedicated server and was busy most of the day trying to get things to work but the main issue for me is that I can't do auto updates. I suppose it has to do with permissions but I opened all permissions to do this. Any suggestions? Thanks

Do you get that every time you try? I just checked the id and xml updater files and they are correct.
I have had this sort of problem with downloading using Firefox before now inthat it tires to download the code running the updater instead of the file itself. Can you try again see if it works?

Still the same problem with updating even on Safari. My tags show as needing an update but I did it manually.
Tags You have version 1.0.10 installed. Update to 1.0.11
I updated both the tags and the template tags. Tags 1.0.10 and 1.0.11 are both showing up on my available plugins page. I tried deleting the folder and reinstalling but the older Tags plugin doesn't disappear.

BTW, I had to change all the write permissions to be completely open for all three choices and not only owner on my new server for the locations to be writable. Otherwise I get a red X.
I checked the files on the old server and they were not all open, only for the owner and not for users and others.
Is this necessary or is it just a hosting issue?

I would get this reset... remove the tags and template tags folders and contents... download each from the plugins download page via http://FTP... see if that gets it reset from the original failure...

Seems that it was a folder permission issue. Everything works great now. Thanks. I actually downloaded all the plugins individually before to try to fix it. The updates were obviously automatically fixed.

Friends,
Just to let you know that I auto updated the SimplePress plugin through auto updater at my Wordpress Admin panel and everything went well without any kind of trouble.
I also got the message that the SP Plugin update is available and it got updated with no hassles.
Thanks
