Hello I'm newto this and in need of help I am trying to set up simplepress 5 on my website thru Wordpress and I can't upload an avatar when logged in as the admin the button to choose it is grayed out and also new members wanting to upload an image do not have the control bar to upload or anything else. I'm sure it's just a mistake when I set this up but I can't find an article on it at all
Please help
P.s. my site is mysterious-sightings.com and it's under forums.

do you have the sp plugin file uploader added? sp 5 features numerous plugins to add functionality... additionally, users have to have permission to upload images, media or files...
you also need to enable avatar uploading... forum - profile - avatars

ok I have added the sp file uploader, but there are still 2 problems one when I go to add the avatar it takes me to a page with just text links no graphics at all and second from inside the add topic area when I drag a pic over it gives me this error over and over
area51-2.jpg: Error 999 - Unknown server error (check image size - may be exhausting memory)

sorry, not following... avatar? what graphics are you expecting?
on uploading the attachments, did you do as suggested? how big was the file?

the file was 42k and was 420 by about 200 a very small file, here is what Im missing on my site i dont know if its a plugin or a setting

I don't understand the relevance of the image you have posted? Or are you saying that you have no tinyMCE toolbar? If that is the case did you install the SP tinyMCE editor plugin?
As to the upload error then this means your server has thrown a 500 error. This means your server reported that it was unable to perform the requested task but gives no reason for why it could not. The only ways to see why your server is misbehaving are to look at your server error logs which will usually provide more information - or - ask your hosting support.

Thanks for the info sorry I didn't know what the plug in was called your descriptions are vague for someone like me who doesn't know allot about forums. I'll check with my hosting company about the error
