SimplePress version 5.4.1
bbPress 2.5.3
I couldn't find this exact problem with bbPress - hope it's ok if I open a new thread. Nearest one was someone having a similar problem with phpbb.
Basically when doing a bbPress->Simple:Press import, importer brings in the users, but not the forums and posts and doesn't throw any errors at all. There is nothing in the error log in the Simple:Press toolbox, and I am on aws linux and apparently the php errors go to /var/log/problem-with-post-edit-buttonttpd/error_log-<date> and there is nothing in that log either.
One strange thing is that Importer will NOT take any notice of me selecting the option for the newer bbPress - as soon as I click 'select importer' it goes to the next screen which says "Source Forum Data: bbPress (Older separate site version)". When I populate the values in that 'Source Forum Data' form (I've tried with and without UTF8 checked) it just goes to the page that says "What to do next".
I've tried it several times (uninstalling/deactivating/re-installing simplepress each time so that I start with a blank slate) and it happens the same each time.
Note that I tried this on a separate site with the same versions of bbPress and SimplePress and it worked fine. The only differences I can see are that:
- The bbPress on the site that works is much smaller (the failing site is dozens of forums and hundreds of posts).
- The bbPress on the failing site has sub-forums, not sure if this matters
- On the failing site (as I mentioned above) after you populate the "Source Forum Data" form it goes straight to the "What to do next page", but on the site that works as I recall it gave me some feedback about what it was doing.
Any help would be much appreciated!!!
First up thanks for the info regarding the incorrect label. I have fixed that up so that it will be corrected in the next update.
If you are getting no imported information showing up at all - and by that I include failure notices - then it does sound remarkably like an error although I suppose it is possible that the importer is quite genuinely not finding anything to import.
I have to be honest and say that the only possible way I have found to help troubleshoort import issues is to have a copy of the database and try it here under controlled conditions. And I am willing to do that but it is your call of course.

I did see the PM and you may by all means email a dump of the database so I casn try iot here.
I can not actually remember now what the problem was with the other users data or the content of the email I sent him! But I can take a look.
I can not promise when as I may not be here tomorrow.
