Support Forum
Hi all,
In Forums > Options > Global Options I have TinyMCE set as my default editor.
In my profile, I have rich text editing enabled.
When I log in as an administrator-level user, or a subscriber-level user, I see the following reply box:
Any idea why my TinyMCE bars aren't appearing? The reply box isn't even full width, it's like 50% or so!
Getting a lot of console errors:
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Duncan
so those 404 errors on the tinymce js is pretty telling... though oddly pointing in completely the wrong spot...
did you put the sp plugins in the sp plugin dir (sp-resources/forum-plugins) and not the wp plugins directory?
do you have another plugin (or theme) using tinymce?
a link to your site would be useful... also verify that your wp theme has the proper call to wp_footer() in it (usually footer.php)

Thanks for the quick response.
I do have other plugins using TinyMCE, but only through WordPress'
wp_editor()
function.
Oddly, when my site was at /dev/ (I did a database search/replace using preg_callback to accurately amend serialized data), the TinyMCE editor worked. After the move it doesn't!

Cheers,
That causes more damn problems than it solves! All of our js that can be is already minimised. You do need to exclude the forum page from being cached as the data is dynamically served up.
So is this from the IPB forum? Did the importer work for you? Or is this a new install...

Yeah, it managed to kill the User Profile area too. I've disabled the entire plugin for now until I can work out how to stop it from caching SP.
This is from IPB indeed! In the end my colleague decided that he *needed* the images too, so we paid gConverter to sort it out for us. The old images are ridiculously large and often break small screens but as long as they're there he's happy > I'm happy.
Are you the gent I was speaking to about the importer? If so, I'm awfully sorry I didn't get back to you - I've been working on getting the redevelopment live since Tuesday and as such ended up dropping all non-urgent communications 🙂
No worries. If they are using the popup image option then in V5 oversized images will break the browser real estate.when opened. A fix for this will be in 5.1 that contains the maximum image display size to the available space.
Good to know that gConverter came through actually. As I mentioned, my wife runs a small and private IPB forum and is wanting to change to SMF or phpBB and I was thinking of asking them to do it. In her case she too was not wanting to lose image and media files.
