Have not been able to find where my error is, but I go and create a blog post and make sure it is linked to the forum.

The forum shows that the topic has been created, but I am unable to get to it even as administrator. It always gives an access denied message when I try to view it.

One other thing, this is on a Multisite installation.

The forum does not display the Author or first and last post in the right 2 columns.

patience young padawan...

so the blog post is created on the same site as the forum, right?  each forum install is unique to each network site...

a link would help...  no caching?  redirection plugins?

The blog link is for the same site on the network. Unfortunately I cannot provide a link because the entire website has to be protected.

A somewhat confusing scenario! Let's see if I can ask the right questions...

  1. Is this a new install of SP or is it an upgrade from V4?
  2. If an upgrade, can you please go to the Manage permissions admin panels and ensure that your permission records are intact?
  3. Also if an upgrade - was blog linking working before as expected?
  4. You say the author and post details are blank on the forum view? Are the topic and post counts also zero?
  5. Is the 'Access Denied' message a formatted message with a border below the login details or is it at the top of an empty page?
  6. Could you go to the forum admin > toolbox > error log/ There may be a few entries in there but are there any that specifically mention blog linking in the function name or file name and, if so, can you copy them to me?
  7. Do you have easy access to your php error log and if so could you take a look for the day and time this happened to see if anything was reported?

That will probably do for starters!
