Hi guys, thanks for a great forum plug-in! The new version looked so good I installed it on my new website together with the blog linking plugin, however it's throwing up an error message when I add a comment to a blog post that's linked to a forum topic.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function sp_editor_parse_codetags() in ...wp-content/plugins/simple-press/sp-api/sp-api-filters.php

Several different error messages in the log

line: 232
function: sp_linking_do_install
error: Duplicate key name 'blog_post_idx'
ALTER TABLE wp_sftopics ADD KEY blog_post_idx (blog_post_id);

line: 107
function: sp_edit_title_popup
Notice | Trying to get property of non-object

I've disabled the blog linking plugin for the time being and everything appears to be working

The two notices are a pain and we are having trouble stopping those although they are just notices.
The fatal error is an important issue. What SP editor are you using please? I will also open a ticket so I can test things here.

I have a little more information.

I thought I had tested this properly on my local server before I went live with my new website but I think what happened is this. The forum was the last plugin I installed on my site before I went live and I tested the post/forum links using a post published prior to installing sp and everything works fine and still does. I can make a linked comment without any problems.

The problem is with comments on new posts published after installing sp. A new post will publish and link ok, but making any linked comments causes the error.

When I post a comment on a blog post that's linked to the forum I get a white page with this error message
Fatal error: Call to undefined function sp_editor_parse_codetags() in ...\wp-content\plugins\simple-press\sp-api\sp-api-filters.php on line 296
and the page url is
.../wp-comments-post.php

Once I back up or clear the error message from the screen, I can see that the comment is published.

I'm using the standard editor that comes default with the sp setup. Hope this info helps a little.

Sorry I wasn't clear. Blog linking 1.05 and yes, the fatal error, it's still doing the same thing. Post a comment, then the white page with the fatal error appears. Once I clear the white page, I can see that the comment is published.

Was this comment made by a guest or a logged in user? If a 'guest' can you also try leaving a comment when logged in? See if there is any difference...

I have a private membership site so everyone on the live site is logged in. I've also got a test site on my desktop that I've done some tests both logged in and as a guest with no luck.

I'm using buddypress and at first I thought that might be causing some conflict, but it doesn't appear so because I've just done a fresh install of the latest wordpress 3.31 on my test site with a fresh install of the latest sp and the blog linking plugin. I didn't change any of the settings; just set up a test group, test forum and a test post. And still getting the same fatal white page error.

The only thing I just noticed is that the hosting on my live site provides PHP version 5.2.14. I've just asked them if they're going to upgrade and am waiting on a reply.

However I'm also using xampp on my desktop which meets the minimum requirements and still having problems with this also, so I'm not sure if the PHP version is contributing to the problem on the live site or not.

Update- the PHP version on the live site does meet the minimum standard, I just need new glasses - thought it said 5.2.1.4 (sigh)
