Just tried the Blog Post Linking when making a new Forum Thread, and although it was nice it had me select the Category, it never asked me to choose Featured Image, so my Blog post fired off several Social Media links automatically with no visual.
Seems like this would be an important feature of a plugin like this. And not sure I'll use it again until it can do this.

not sure I follow, so let me ask a couple questions...
when you create a forum topic, you want to 'mark' an image in the new topic to also be used as the featured image in the blog post that is about to get created? or you want to upload an image like the wp media uploader does?
first time anyone has asked for anything remotely like this... And quite complex to achieve since we dont really have direct access to the wp uploads directory... and the wp media uploader is still not optimized for front end use by plugins (but getting closer)... but I can make a note of it for consideration... perhaps something like the first image in the forum topic can be set as the featured image in the post (assuming we can get it copied over to the wp uploads storage...
as an aside, most of the decent opengraph stuff out there for wp, allow you to set a default image to use for social media cross posting... that way you dont send off the social media without one... if what you are using doesnt support that, you might consider upgrading the social media interaction functionality... understand a default is less than optimal, but generally better than nothing...

I'm asking about the cross posting plugin letting me set the featured image by uploading a file, it doesn't have to be from my media library. If I can't set a unique featured image I have no reason to cross post with this plugin. It's gimped as it is now, which is a shame because i could use it. But I have to go over to posts and give it a featured image after its posted and shot out social with no post image.

Well I noticed this or another plugin lets you post on the forums when you make a blog post, so I guess that's the way to go... I can make a complete post with Featured Image then send it over as a forum post.

same plugin... and yes, if there is a featured post in a blog post, it will get carried over to the forum...
wp is getting really close with the editor api and the upload api where we could perhaps use it for our stuff... I would like nothing more than to ditch our own maintained plugin and use theirs... fingers crossed...
