Support Forum
I was updating some old posts with comments from a word document and of course, the post comments appeared in the related forum topics, but there was this, office syntax (i think) that appeard with it (see picture), how can i prevent this from happening? I couldn´t paste the syntax into this topic as the forum wouldn´t allow "office syntax of some sort".
Microsoft Word is really not for writing blog/HTML/Web pages etc. It creates a mess of syntax by inserting Microsoft specific rubbish into html code. If you want to write your blog in an editor first then paste it into WP; you can get one of many free HTML editor from Web (Do a Google search for Free HTML editors) One of the good Free editor is Sea Monkey (http://www.seamonkey-project.org/). You willl have a clean code, with no Microsoft rubbish inserted into it.
Two things...
One, you can turn that option off on forum - options - content settings...
Two, in the tinymce editor toolbar, there is a paste from word button that can deal with all the extra styles and wasteful crap that MS puts in there...

I´m more thinking of the people who don´t know of the HTML editors and just want to comment on a post, i could mention it in some help section on my website, but the odds of people reading that is, slim to none. I just thought you would like to know of this as most forums don´t have problems posting word syntax or ignoring it. Thank you any way
Good question, i just assumed as the first clue to this was the "MSO" syntax, then when i was going to paste the syntax directly into this forum, it stated that it couldn´t post the topic as it couldn´t allow the word syntax, but NB, i wasn´t pasting a comment from word directly into the forum, i pasted the comment into a blog post which updated a topic in the forum and there the syntax appeared.

Well, I did that too at my install, posted a test comment from word on my blog and it updated in Simple Press forum. So, SimplePress support expert will have better answer then, a user like
did you try either thing I listed?? turning off the option to strip that stuff? or using the paste from word button?
you should be able to paste from word fine with it off... you will get tons of worthless crap - 10x meaningless styles compared to actual content... and it may look fine if it inherits some stuff from your wp theme, but should work...
