Yesterday i updated Simple:Press to the latest version. Then i installed the Blog Post Linking Plugin. Then i wrote an article for my website, but the linking option in the editor was gone 🙁 nothing in the options and elsewhere. any suggestions?

What do you mean by 'nothing in the options'?
and did you actually activate the linking plugin?

sure i activated it 😉 what i was talking about are the options in the wysiwyg-editor as you can see on the screenshot. before the update there was an option within the wysiwyg-editor to manually add link from post to forum etc

plugin stopped posting link to forum. same setting as before

No - we have never defined a tinymce button to do that.

Well firstly that little form has nothing to do with the WYSIWYG editor. What I said was there never was an option on the editor for this and that is correct. There never has been.

The form you are referring to is still there just the same as it always was. If you are not seeing then I can think of three possible reasons.

One - on the blog linking admin options panel you do not have the option checked to show the forum in posts.

Two - it is being hidden by the posts page so take a look in the 'screen options' at the top to make sure.

Three - there may be another plugin also creating a component on the edit posts page that is in conflict in some way.

But it is most likely one of the first two.

I just upgraded to v5. I must say it's more confusing. I'm having a terrible time getting this blog linking sorted. It used to work effortlessly. I've made a directory and installed the blog-linking folder. I've activated the plugin. I've set the settings so I DO see the linking option inside the post page...however...although it SAYS i've created a forum link, one doesn't actually show up.

There is no link to the forum discussion at the bottom of the post (like there used to be).

When I select the button to view the forum post from within the post backend, I get this message:

Access denied - you do not have permission to view this page

Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

the blog linking itself is mostly unchanged and works the same...  its just in plugin form... and the options and implementation are the same...

made a directory?  what do you mean?

thus far, we have no other reports of problems with blog linking so we need to understand what might be going on with your site...  can you post an image of your forum - components - blog linking options panel with your options?  and a link to your site please for a blog post and the corresponding forum topic...
