Yes - we've seen that error log entry before and we had it once ourselves but we have never been able to replicate it so that we can diagnose the cause and where it is actually happening. In every case we have seen however, including the time we had it, the users have always said that it did not prevent the link and the topic post being made. I think it is red herring but, as I say, we have been totally unable to replicate and it has been reported for a long time.
There is an open ticket on it.

At the moment only the obvious one to be honest. Ask the authors of this other plugin if they are retarding the WP hooks that should run post publish and what is it they are doing that seems to take complete control of the processing...

I'm still looking into the SNAP plugin, but I did notice that the automatic blog post linking is sporadic. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. We had a post publish this morning that didn't get a forum topic, and I noticed these entries in the error log:

They were warnings and not errors, but the fact that it happened at the same time that the post was published might be telling.

how was this post made? for those errors to occur, you dont have a valid wp user making the post... almost as if it was made programatically but a wp user not set up...

It was just a scheduled post written by one of our writers. He's a WordPress admin, so I don't think it's a permissions issue, at least it shouldn't be.

One more thing, and I'm sorry to flood this topic, but I noticed that sometimes the lead photo doesn't get included in the automatic form topic. We usually put our lead photos at the top of the post, before any text. Sometimes the photo shows up on the forum topic, sometimes it doesn't, but it also doesn't seem to coincide with a successful automatic topic creation on a scheduled post.

lead photo = feature image??
if so, does the image have a caption when it gets stripped out?? If so, this is a known shortfall of blog linking... without a caption it works fine..
