Dates in the past are a problem and I do not think we can honour them without making a change to the underlying query structures. Dates in the future when a blog post linked to create a new topic should be OK because the new topic will not be created until the blog post is actually published.
Simple:Press does not actually sort by the post date but uses the post ID. In 99.99% of the cases this amounts to the same thing. The reason we do it this way is that it is significantly faster to sort by ID then by date.

I ought to have added that it is actually possible to change the sort order using hooks and a little custom code but then such a change would be global and there would be a performance cost although if it is not a large and busy forum this might be negligible.

This is a new question on this topic. I am usually writing my blog for publishing the next morning. I am checking the box to publish to the Forum. For some reason it is not publishing it to the Forum. It works when I check it and publish it immediately, but not in the future.

Thank you,

delayed blog posting with linked forum topic create does work... or at least has been working with no other reported issues... but I can open a ticket for research...
afraid a link wp blog post must be the first forum post in a topic...
you can move posts to new topics or existing topics using the forum tools... a bit of info here: http://codex.simple-press.com/.....her-tools/ at least how to open the forum tools...

I hate these ones because they can get complicated!
I have been testing for most of the morning and so far my future scheduled posts have been creating the forum topics and links without problem.
Now - as your immediately published posts are creating the topic and link I have to assume that there are no conflicts with another plugin or anything like that. And that tends to leave the more difficult variables like which action was responsible for the scheduled post to get published. This only happens when the site is actually accessed (admin or public side) - the schedule is checked and, if needed, any posts sitting there are published before the requested page is loaded. I have to wonder if the page being loaded - the action that forces the publish task - might be a factor. Why it should be I do not know but it is all I can think of.
So - first question. Can you replicate this behaviour - does it happen with every scheduled post?
