how did you install it using the plugin uploader when you already had it installed?  did you remove the old one first?

Thanks Mr Papa,

I didn't read all 28 pages of posts on this, but saw the reference earlier so figured that must be it. It was rather catastrophic when I activated it, so I figure I better just wait. I'm too ignorant to play around with it much, and really don't want to break something. :)

OH, well that's different then, isn't it? :)

Here's a clip - http://clip2net.com/s/5wloNq

I didn't get a specific error. It's just that as soon as I activated the plugin, BOOM, the lights went out. I only assumed it was the avatar thing because I saw reference to it earlier.

Thanks

anything in the server error log? or in forum - toolbox - error log? is the directory for the plugin actually called buddypress?

It was called buddypress. It's gone now. I had to remove it through ftp to get my site back. Let's give it another shot.

Installed, and called budypress. Let's press activate... D'oh!!

Here's what the dashboard does when I activate it - http://clip2net.com/s/5wnYgm. The forum is gone on the site, except for the header. Other pages seem fine, except my BP Activity page is almost blank now. There's no access to anything through the dashboard. No matter which tab I select, the tab highlights, and the url changes, but the field remains blank.

After I removed it through ftp, I had this under Simple:Press Administration - "The plugin buddypress/sp-buddypress-plugin.php has been deactivated due to error: Plugin file does not exist"

Error log says nothing.

This is a multisite, so maybe that has something to do with it? Sub-directories seemed unaffected.

I wish I could help more, but it's all over my head.

I dont understand the image...  where did you install the plugin??   its a simple press plugin so it goes in the simple press plugins folder NOT the wp plugins... you would activate it from forum - plugins - plugin list... is that what you did?

if so, can you verify the entire folder exists?  default location would be:  wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins

see:  http://codex.simple-press.com/.....g-plugins/

That was kind of the point of the image. That's what happens when I activated the plugin. What you see is what I got...

Yes, I installed it from the SP plugin installer. As soon as I activate it that's what happens on my dashboard. everything disappears. The only way I could get back to it in order to delete is was to go through my ftp (or cpanel) and delete it from the sp plugin folder.

I installed all your plugins to give them a run earlier. And I verified that it was in the right folder before I activated it. I've tried both installing it through the plugin installer and using ftp. It installed fine both times. It blew up both times as soon as it was activated.

So, yeah, I get where they go. This one doesn't "go" for me though. :) It stops... everything.

You can verify that other plugins are working fine on the site. http://allaboutchile.com/forum/
