hmmmm... interesting... downloaded and activated the ultimate tinymce plugin real quick tonight...  a few tests and its working fine with simple press...

now, this is stock, out of the box, default settings...  I have customized nothing...  but it works together with simpl press... so must be something in configuring options that causes it to go south...no chance to look into that tonight...

Hi Papa,

Talking Manuals is using both Simple-Press Rich Text plugin and Ultimate TinyMCE with success. As I said in my last post, some others sites are not successful using the both. I tested with all plugins deactivated. I have also discovered that other plugins work successful on some sites with the same plugins while others do not. I checked out the database tables to see if any tables were not being removed upon a plugin uninstall - using Plugins Garbage Collector. I do not know why there are these inconsistencies. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts?

If some sites (like mine or Talking Manuals) work with it, then kind of indicates something unique (could be common) to the ones that dont work...  perhaps some options or addons you have enabled??

can you set it to stock out of the box condition and see if it works?  then start enabling options or addons and see when it stops working...

Hi Papa,

I have the author of Ultimate visiting as admin to the site that these 2 plugins are having conflicts. Will post the results.

okay...  if I get a chance, I still want to enable some options and see what happens... but might be helpful if you told me what you had customized from stock out of the box to save some time...

Simple-Press, the Rich Text plugin nor the site theme was ever customized. So Simple-Press and any of its plugins are installed right out of the box. The default page, "forum" was left unchanged.

While in the Rich text editor's Options, the toolbar 2 - if you remove: "code,|,wp_adv,sp_help,spellchecker"

the text editor displays while Ultimate TinyMCE is active.

 REVISED

Confirmed: When "code" is removed from the toolbar1, while Ultimate TinyMCE is active, the text editor appears.

interesting...  in my working combination, I still have 'code' in there... and it is not causing any issues for me...

kind of odd too since 'code' is simply the standard tinymce html popup editor... are you sure that you dont have ultimate tinymce 'improving' or otherwise tweaking the html editor of tinymce?

none the less, good information for others who might be having issues...

Seems like it is working now. Both Ultimate TinyMCE and Simple-Press Rich Text editor is working together. I removed "code" then soon after that, I reinstalled the Rich Text editor and BAM, it all works. What the heck is that about?

lol.. who knows... another wp mystery! ;)

oddly, sometimes the order in which you enable plugins in wp can have an effect on operation...

but glad all is well!
