Sorry to re-post but there has been some developments. I originally had the textable area assigned to the overview page, which obviously meant that you couldn't update it there. So I then moved it to the edit profile section which appeared just below bio. After entering the info, it says profile updated, but when it refreshes, the text that I wrote has </p> on either side and doesn't appear in the profile. Please help.
are you sure it doesnt have a <p> on one end and an </p> on the other end?
the text area supports html, so its just formatting it... when displayed on the actual profile (not the edit), you shouldnt see the p tags...

Hi Mr Papa, yes - it has it on it on either side.
Nothing is shown in in custom field area at all when I update the profile. Can I PM a link to the forum and some login info for you to see the problem? Thanks!
sure... pm the details to both yellow swordfish and myself...

yes. Just place the custom profile field template tag in the theme template file where you want to display it...
sp_CustomProfileFieldsDisplay($name, $userid=0);
where $name is the name of the custom profile field and pass the user who made the post, $spThisPost->user_id I think...
