Can't edit email configuration. Problems wit html email, too, if I try to add language translation:

Are you using SP 5.6.7 ? If so can you perform the upgrade released this past weekend as I think that might possibly be the cause.

Version: 5.6.7 Pack: 14199

Language Italian, and have 2 big problems: error of translation downloading with several plug-in and no way to update html email content. It doesn't save text changes.

Translation Files:
Can you tell me the actual language code your site is set to? WordPress has had some odd code constructions in the past. The actual name of your main WP language file would be useful. This can be found in the /wp-content/languages folder. Normally for Italian, WordPress uses it_IT.mo so can you tell me if this is what you have?

HTML EMails:
This might have something to do with accented characters. Are you using any characters that are accented or odd in any way? If so could you try it without them to see if that works and if it does we can work on a solution for that.

Actually - if this IS the case then could you also tell us the version of your mySQL database server? You can find this in the forum admin > toolbox > environment panel.

My blog is full of accented characters and can't change this.

For the moment I disabled html email as users can't recovery password (no way to insert the link for recovery). I place it, save and link disappears.

Ah... what about the version of the HTML Email plugin? That should be version 1.0.11 (You can check this is the forum admin > Plugins list. Is this up to date? There is nothing wrong with the text.

When I asked about accented or odd characters I did not mean within your blog posts. Just within the text you were trying to use in the HTML Email. But I see that your version of mySQL should be fine anyway.

I am very puzzled about this translation file issue. We have quite a large number of Italian users and I know they al use translated files with apparently no issue. So - let;s take another route. Do ANY of the core and/or plugin/theme translation files install correctly? If they do then can you tell me which plugins specifically do not?

I believe I now know a reason for the translation files issue. I need to talk to a colleague about the best way to sort the problem out but hopefully I can get those fixed up some time over the next 24 hours.

The HTML Emails still puzzles me if only because we use that particular email ourselves with no apparent problem. So it is odd. But I will dig into the code to see if I can find what might be going on.

I will come back to the thread when I know...
