I took a look and the reason the count didn’t show was probably because the width of the button was set less than the space needed if adding the count to it.

I added the info on how to add the fb count to the button in the codex page.  I would put it here so you didn’t have to go look but it contains an iframe reference which can’t go into a forum post.

I am also looking for the Facebook Share button as opposed to the like button.  I’m kind of surprised it’s not already available.  Above it was mention that it would be a pretty busy system if every topic got sent to facebook but that is not the way you would do.  Yes that would be a great option too but people just generally share your contect once in a while not every single time and differenct people share to different walls and shares.  wpmu has the ultimage facebook plugin and now there is a new wp plugin that was actually developed with participation of Facebook.  You can’t have a forum these days with our being able to share your content to FB and twitter.

The Like Me button is enough, we need Share this content button.  Thanks Listening.

I know this is on the ‘to be done’ list but Steve (Mr Papa) is more up to date with that side of things than me (Facebook and Twitter I mean!) so hopefully he can add a comment…

Many/Most of my users will be coming from facebook and they do a lot of sharing, and I think they’d be shocked to read forum posts and not be able to share it.  Plus, sharing is a very important part of marketing a forum on FB so any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I wish is was as easy as putting a like button on every topic, but there’s a bit more to it.

it shouldnt be much harder…  slightly different code/js…

see:

just be sure to change the share url to the post permalink…  from the codex page for the like button, of course…
