lol... unfortunately, no different for me if  I enable all the components and options... 🙁

interesting though you are running a whole lot of security stuff... more isnt always better... 😉  and does seem repetitive there...

Just for a quick test, try disabling all of those plugins and see if the two work...  maybe its some interaction between three (or more) of them...  just leave buddypress and simple press active and see if any better... if so, then one by one enable until something breaks...  may be no different, but still good to rule out other interactions...

Yeah I got hacked or something a while back. Should have kept my plugins updated, but I learned my lesson. You're right, it's probably overkill. I'm slowly scaling it back.

Ok, I deactivated every single plugin (including WP-BP) except for SP. I uploaded SP-BP and activated it, I then activated WP-BP and it kicked me out of my login session. The same issues happened in the same manner as before, so I don't think any other plugin is contributing to the issue.

Shame - I had some hopes that Jetpack may be the guilty party as we often seem to see problems with that!

OK - perhaps for the sake of clarity we could recap briefly. Am I correct in saying that if the main WP BuddyPress plugin is NOT active but the SP BuddyPress Integration IS then leaving aside that it is a pointless permutation, there are no errors or problems?

If that is the case then it does seem to come back to the interaction between the two and clearly something everyone is overlooking as we have many users with this combination.

Correct. If WP-BP and SP-BP are active at the same time, I get logged out of my session, cannot log back in, and the site grinds to a halt. Ifneither of those plugins are active without the other being active, there are no issues.

I will need to Steve to weigh in on what is the best way forward here but perhaps turning off the BP options and turning them back on one at a time and seeing what happens until we find the culprit may be the only way we are going to find out what it is in your particular instance...
Steve?

logged out of your session?  and cannot get back in?   guess I missed that earlier.. just thought things wouldnt load...  still a problem... 🙁

I would like to take a look in the admin and try a few things with my tools if thats possible... do you have a test mirror?   but would be kind of hard since if we initiate the problem, we would need a way to fix as well (ie ftp access)...

Ok, I tried turning off all the WP-BP options and then uploaded SP-BP. I was able upload it successfully, but upon activation I do get kicked out of my login session.

So to be clear, I no longer receive the fatal error message anywhere (from what I can see). It looks like I am just getting logged out and I cannot log in as the administrator (it appears I can login as a normal user, but it is extremely sluggish). I occasionally get errors about redirect loops when I try to log in.

If you like, perhaps we can try troubleshooting some things on my site Friday? I don't have a mirror site, but I could set one up by then and test if the same problem happens on my mirror site.

I also have a live chat room on my site so we can talk in a password protected room and every time there is an error I can go into my admin panel and remove the plugin manually. Let me know your thoughts.

might be hard to coordinate - if I recall we are in quite different timezones...  but if you could quickly set up a test mirror (doesnt really have to be a mirror), that might be the best of both worlds...

Alright, I'm just in the middle of a hectic few weeks so I will have to put this troubleshooting on hold for a bit. As soon as I get some free time I will post again.
