I have successfully installed and activated the File Uploader plugin, but I can't see anything in my forum to upload file, such as the the section with the 3 buttons in your own forum.

Maybe I need additionnal settings in the admin section?

Same question for the Topic Status plugin. Installed, activated, I defined a status with a list of values, but nothing appears in the forum.

Uploader: If you are looking at the forum as a forum admin then you should just see it. Members will need permissions to use it before they see it so you may need to go to the permissions panels and update those as required first. If you are a forum admin and can not see it then it may be you have a script conflict. We would need a link to the forum page to see if that is an issue.

Topic Status: These need to be assigned to specific forums so after you have set the topic status collection(s) up you will need to them go to each forum you wish to apply it to and add it - Manage Groups and Forums.

Correct. I updated permissions and it works fine, thanks. I have additional questions to finalize the setup.

Is it possible to customize the color of the "select files" panel which appears when you click on "upload files". It's currently grey which does not fit into my site design.

I use SimplePress in French and the "select files" panel remains in English. In the admin panel, when I update the "Plupload language code:" to "fr' or "fr_FR" and save, when I come back it is not saved and still set to 'en'. I have uploaded a file "sp-plup-fr_FR.mo" in directory "wp-content\sp-resources\forum-language\sp-plugins". Additional setup seems required.

The translation itself is not perfect and I would like to contribute to enhance it. Is it possible?

Yes but it depends what theme you are using. If one that uses colour overlays then you need to edit the overlay file and the background colour in use there is called $alt4BackGround. That is the one to change. If NOT an overlay based theme then you just need to edit the background colour for the class .ui-dialog

I can not replicate this but there is something about it that sounds familiar. I will see if I can find it - or maybe Steve (Mr Papa) will remember...

Yes indeed. You can do this on he Glotpress/translation site but you need to be a 'validator' to approve changes. We can upgrade you account to do that if you like but you will need to let me know your login name on the trabslation site. You could Pm me this or send me an email via the contact form and I can do the upgrade.

No, I dont recall anything about the language option not saving...  And I cannot replicate it either...

for French, you would want to enter either fr or fr-ca (for French Canadien)...

do you get any kind of status update message when you hit save?

Language not saved - solved

I have solved the issue related to language not saved. I use the language code 'fr_FR' and one of the language file was ending with 'fr', not 'fr_FR'.

Enhanced French translation

I send you my Glotpress credentials through PM.

Select files panel remain in English - not solved

Now I have the plugin in French, but the 'Select files' panel remains in English.

I have investigated in the server, and there are other localization files located in "wp-content\sp-resources\forum-plugins\plupload\resources\jscript\i18n".

I rename the file 'fr.js' into 'fr_FR.js', but it did not solve the problem, as you can see in the picture attached. Even when I clear the browser cache.

Color issue - give up

Regarding this issue, the color I want to change is the grey one in the 'select files' panel. It's not in alt4BackGround. This panel has its own css located in "\wp-content\sp-resources\forum-plugins\plupload\resources\jscript\jquery.ui.plupload\css". But there are two much color codes in it. I give up on this issue, since I don't have enough time to search and find, and the select files panel is only displayed on demand, so it's not a big issue.

Localisation: The problem with the file uploader - which is shared by the tinyMCE editor - is that they are third party component libraries that we use. They are not natural WP/SP items. Whereas all php driven components of WP and SP use the 'gettext' method of localisation, these javascript driven third party components do not.

If I set my language for the file uploader to fr then I do get the entire uploader form showing up in French. This makes use of the file located at /plupload/resources/jscript/i18n/fr.js

If you open this file in a plain text editor you will see that it is simply a list of the base English words followed by French translations. You can change these translations as you wish but what we can NOT do at the moment, is move them to a safe location where they will be protected from future upgrades of the uploader plugin.

On the other hand - elements of the file uploader outside of this form are normal WP/SP gettext localisations and can therefore be changed in the relevant .po/.mo component files.

Background Colour: We have the same problem with the CSS that controls the internal uploader form. (My apologies for the direction I gave you above but I confused your question with another thread regarding the uploads viewer). The CSS for that background is located in /plupload/resources/jscript/jquery.ui.plupload/css

It is actually created with a background image (in the images folder) named 'ui-bg_glass_75_e6e6e6_1x400.png' which you are free to change. However note once again we are sadly unable to protect this from future uploader updates at the moment.

in the next version of plupload that will be released in conjunction with 5.1.2, you will be able to relocate the plupload internal css (and images) to the sp theme directory...  the plugin has already been changed but its dependent on 5.1.2 before release..

Localisation
: solved and not solved...

I defined 'fr' as plupload language code, duplicated the "sp-plup-fr_FR.mo" into "sp-plup-fr.mo", left the "fr.js" as it is.

As everything is now turned on "fr" for this specific plugin, it works and everything is displayed in French. I left all the other plugins, SP and WP with "fr_FR", and they work as well.

But still two  issues:

  1. when I click on "ajouter des fichiers" / "add files", it works on Chrome, Firefox but not on IE, and I get no error messages on IE
  2. sometimes the plugin goes back to 'en' after few minutes...

If you want to see by yourselves:

  • go to my test site : http://www.teachlynx.com/communautes
  • on the right side, clic on "se connecter"
  • you are redirected to a Web SSO login page; enter "visiteur" as login and password
  • you are logged in and redirected to the forum, and you can see what's wrong
Thanks for the Glotpress credentials upgrade. We have such a nice weather in France that maybe I will find some time to enhance it during the weekend.

Background Colour: thanks for additional details. As mentioned earlier, I give up on this one, as it's not a major issue, and will wait until 5.1.2 and the new plugin is released.

I believe we have solved what is happening to you on the language getting reset...  code change should be in release we are planning for this weekend...

new plugin?  I assume you mean an update to the file uploader plugin...

so in IE there seems to be some sort of js conflict...  the file uploader cannot even seem to figure out what runtime its using...  unfortunately, its not a common problem to IE as the uploader is working fine with IE in other installs...  so guesing (no hard evidence) that its conflicting with other js on your site...  and thats possible because each browser runs its own js engine...

so a couple of tests perhaps...

does it work with the button in English?  does it work if you temp switch to the default wp theme?  does it work with your other plugins temp deactivated?
