Hi, it seems there might be a problem with this plugin.
I have it activated, and have both of these on:
Create blog post to topic link automatically:
For the Link Display Text I have:
%TOPICNAME%, Forum discussion on this post
Blog Linking Canonical URLs
Blog post and linked topic have their own canonical URL
I don't have any of the comment stuff on
There were 2 topics created in the forum, and there isn't any link from the post to the forum, however the link from the forum to the post is there.
I repeated this 2 more times with the same result.
Also I have a question on the plugins... will there be some type of indication inside the admin area if there is an update available for one of the plugins?

sorry, confused... not clear from your post what you were doing... was the original item created via a forum topic and you wanted a blog post created? or vice versa where you created the blog post and wanted a forum topic created? the auto part only applies to blog posts creating forum topics... guessing (but not sure) from your words that it was the former?
Andy is the blog linking expert of the two of us, and currently away on vacation, but I will try this weekend to see if I can recreate your issue...
as to plugins, yes, if any update to a plugin is available you will get a notice and chance to upgrade it just like most other wp plugins...

Yes, I created blog posts and wanted a forum post created. As I said I repeated it an additional 2 times, as I wasn't sure what I did on the 1st one, as far as what I ticked in the bottom.
In the current setup 4.4.5 on the blog, there is a link to the forum created. In the forum, there is a link to the blog added. So you can go to either from the other.
What happened:
2 Forum Topics were created for each blog post.
In the blog post there wasn't any link added to take the person to the forum.
In the forum there was a link back to the blog post.
Hope that's a bit clearer

will try to duplicate this weekend... the blog linking plugin has not been fully tested yet, so certainly could be something wrong...

okay, had a chance to play with this today...
It seems I can duplicate it too... well, at least part of it...
When I create the blog post and tell it to create forum topic, it does it properly... that is, both the blog post and forum topic are created...
however, the blog post does not have a link to the forum topic in it... tried it without the 'post above' option too...
the forum topic does have a link back to the blog post...
you mentioned 2 forum topics created for each blog post... I cannot duplicate that part...
ticket opened... will see if I can look at it, but as mentioned Andy is currently testing the blog linking plugin so may need to wait until he returns...

I just committed a fix that should take care of this... will need to svn up plugins... or wait for wp update release tomorrow...

Good deal. I thought it was me. 🙂 I had the same issue where the blog post was not showing the link to the forum.
I will update tomorrow and see how it goes.

would appreciate some feedback too... blog linking was the last plugin we (read Andy) threw together before the alpha started... we have not fully tested it yet...

Just updated, and download the plugins, and I'm having the same issue. No link on the blog post and it's creating 2 forum topics.

well, gonna need some more information... as I cannot duplicate the doubling or the not getting link anymore...
please go through the steps one by one... so I can make sure I follow exactly... I always get the link right now after the change...
