honestly I don't know what happened - I have been a designer for years and I went to update and gone all my plugs ins gone - I had to rebuild and I restored my theme - pages are all here - but now I can not get simple press to load - I removed and tried to reinstall and I get this when trying to activate

The plugin does not have a valid header.

Sounds a bit like an upload issue to me. rare but happens now and then.

Perhaps empty out the 'wp-content/plugins/simple-press' folder - make sure there is not another one (i.e., a 'simple-press1' for example. And then re-upload the plugin. And don't use FileZilla if that was what you were using as, while it rarely happens these days it has, in the past, caused all kinds of corruptions in uploaded code.

Then perhaps the next stage is to make a manual check.

Take a look on your server at the /plugins/simple-press folder and see what is inside it. There should be 5 folders, 1 .php file and 1 .txt file. And perhaps open the php file in your code editor and mae sure it opens up OK.

Also - when you tried your 3 times did you re-download the latest version from our download page because that, of course, could also potentially get corrupted during the download operation. Anything is possible after all.
