No, no errors reported.
I'm using the bbpress as a plugin version.
Just so you know, there's a call to an unavailable image on the importer panel, it tries to load wp-content/plugins/simple-press/admin/resources/images/SPF-badge-125.png

just wanted to be sure you selected the right version of bbpress in the importer..
also, can you verify that both the bbpress db and the wp db with sp are on the same server? think it displays an error message if not, but wanted to check...
might need @yellow-swordfish to weigh in come morning as he wrote the importer... odd no errors if it ran... this is a clean sp db?

I'm a little confused by this question so maybe I'm doing something wrong? I don't have a separate bbpress db.
Yes, this is a clean sp install, I had set it up with the demo content originally, but have removed that using the button.
Thanks Mr Papa,
Chris

sounds like you are saying both bbpress and simple press are in the same wp db... not the case for some users who want to transfer from one domain to another.. so was just making sure your two were on the same server...
sorry, what button did you remove data with? did you do an uninstall?

Nope, didn't uninstall. When I first installed there was an option to set up a sample forum/posts. There was a button on the SimplePress admin that allows for removing that sample setup.

Well on one side we have had many users import from bbPress successfully so we know it can work. On the other side, when there is a problem it can be a devil to try and work out why as usually it comes down to data. and the data, of course, is not ours.
I know you said right at the start that it informs you it has finished but can you tell me exactly what else gets displayed during the import attempt? There should be a list of all the forums being imported?

Yes, well, somewhat 🙂  I use phpmyadmin and can navigate it capably,

Well - perhaps before we go down that route we should consider simple errors. Any chance you could take a quick look at the php error log on your server to see if any reference to the importer?
I have to go out a little later but will spend some time working out what to search for in the data...
