thanks for the reply.
I have tried that already.
After uninstalling the plugin, (we are still able to enable it again) we remove the polls folder.
When installing it again, it's creating a poll1 folder and forum backend and frontend pages are unavailable.
Renaming polls1 with polls make the pages available again, but sql tables might be broken.
EDIT:
Do you have a manual way to remove sql too?
I'm not so familiar with wordpress. It seems that there is 3 polls tables but i assume that their is some new fields in post, topics...

if you uninstall the polls plugin, it will remove its db entries itself... but if you reenable it, the db stuff is created again...

Polls is uninstall, folder removed too.
New Upload and installation. A new folder poll1 is created.

This time after renaming polls1 to polls it seems to work.
We still have a problem, in permission access. guest are not able to vote in poll, but stey still can. Any lead ?
It seems to me - or at least if this were me - I would want to know why it is creating a folder called 'polls1'. Our download zip does not create this. The only reason I have ever come across for this is that some OS's - such as OSX for example - will append a '1' (and then '2' etc) to a folder on unzipping if a folder of that name already exists. I would argue that there has to be something in your server environment responsible for this. And, of course, it is not something we can ascertain.
As to the permission question - I will test that this morning and see if there is a general problem we are unaware of.

On the permission issue I am unable to replicate this. for me, accessing my forums as a guest, the polls just do not appear in the post thus not allowing me to vote - but I also see some of the other content removed so I will open a ticket to get it looked at more closely.
Actually - I better ask you to check to to make sure that the permission set in question is associated with the right user group at forum level... can you double check that please?

Yes that is strange, it is a standard debian system and the folder was not on the FS. Anyway, the problem should be on our side.

To resume what we try to do: we want the guest to view the polls, but not able to vote on it.
on the forum level : Guests => Read Only Access
And on the Read Only Access: can vote in a forum poll within a post is disable
I was coming back to add to my last answer anyway but you beat me to it!
I can not replicate this issue but it seems my colleague - who actually wrote the polls plugin - can. He has said he will look into it tonight - I am sure it will be an easy fix and we will get an update out ASAP. So apologies for that.

maybe... original poster not clear on how guests could vote...
The permissions are correct when the topic loads up... user wont be able to vote and will be shown poll results... however, if the user has not voted (or is allowed multiple votes), there is a link at the bottom which allows them to load the poll for voting... the display of that link needs a permission check too... so users/guests without permission to vote could vote if they clicked on the link..
but if its showing to vote on the original page load, then I would suspect incorrect permission set up...
Will get the polls update done tonight, but may be day or two before its released...

I also have a problem with the poll plugin (1.04)
When creating a poll, a box says "Error Creating Poll, Please check entries".
All the fileds are filled.
The same problem is suddenly back.
Polls works when i deactivate Contact Form 7, but i need this plugin.
version polls: 1.2
version contact form 7: 3.3.1
version SP: 5.1.4.
