With all the posts I have seen with a latest post widget, why isn't there one provided with a Simple Press Install.  I figure it would save your staff time and effort just to include it.

When you have indiviuals coding thier own Widget, then there is going to be error and frustration.

Its part of the template tags plugin. download that from our plugins download page and you will have a widget for recent posts... Its not included in core because everyone does not use it and it keeps the core size down and minimizes bloat for those who dont use it...  but we do have one available - just need the plugin...

Alright.  I was getting so frustrated that I knew I was overlooking something.  No matter how many times I looked in the widgets I just did not see it.

no worries...  must admit its not terribly intuitive that the widget would be in a plugin... ;)

Yeah.  When I read over the descriptions, I missed the words "simple press".

Anyways, I got it working but ran into another question.  How do I change some of the text color, possibly size and add extra breaks between the different posts?

I'm looking to make the Topic name in a bright color and possibly bigger than the autor and date.  Also, when the different topics display, they need to have breaks between them to make them easier to read.

thanks again.

you will need to look at the classes/ids applied to the widget elements... and then add some css... we dont have css for the widget in our stuff because our css is not loaded on non forum pages...

if you have specific elements you want to mention and what you want to do to them, we can help, but need specifics... firefox with firebug is a great tool for inspecting html/css and then playing around with css options...
