Support Forum
For a church website, we use our forum to send out emails to users. Has worked great for a year. Now, very recently, the emails that get sent out are missing carriage returns so the whole message shows up on one line. The only major change we made recently was to have Dreamhost fully serve our Wordpress. We keep SP updated. I have no idea how to even debug / figure out what is going on. I did tweak SP so that it formats the email in the way we like, but that edit is months old. The posts look fine on the forum itself. I should note that we use a blast email service but I doubt that's the issue because they would have other users complaining. Thanks for any help.
Mmm. i can guarantee that we have not changed the emails and the standard way that paragraphs are ended and new lines started. So there is something else at play here that is parsing the email at some stage and filtering these out.
Assuming you have added no plugins to your WordPress site that might effect email content then I think you also need to ask this same question to the other links in your chain - 'blast' and 'dreamhost'. If you tell then that we send emails as plain text with the standard escape sequences for a carriage return/new line we would be most interested to hear what they say and whether they can pinpoint where the issue might be...
