No "Forum Subscriptions" tab in profiles

Hello.

Subscription plugin is installed and enabled. In its options, “Allow members to subscribe to a forum” is checked.

In the members group authorizations configuration “Can subscribe to forums (if enabled) and topics” is also checked.

But when a user clicks on the “Subscriptions” tab in his profile window, there is no “forum subscriptions” tab.

I uninstalled/installed Subscriptions plugin with no success.

SP version is  5.5.11.

Subscription plugin version is 1.4.13

Translation is french.

Any idea ?

Thanks.

Patrick

Hey Patrick,

If everything else is working OK then could we start by just covering the easy stuff.. Could you go to one of the user in questions profiles (edit profile from their popup / page) and check their permissions tab, then view one of the forums that the user group and permission are joined in and check to see if the subscribe to forum permission is ticked green?

Also, when your editing the users profile could you check their subscriptions tab to see if you can see ‘Forum Subscriptions’?

There is only one private forum.

As you can see ine the attached image, no “Forum Subscriptions” tab.subsscriptions.jpg

So does the subscribe to forum permission have a green tick?

Strange,,, and currently unique as well.

Are you getting any errors reported (JUST actual errors please – NOT Notices or Warnings)?

Is there a way to export/import existing posts ?

In this case, I could try to perform a new fresh installation.

Well – you can make a DB backup but I really do not see the point. It is a bit drastic for such a small and minor issue. At least I would think so.

If you have not customised your profile panels at all, the next step I think, would be to go to the forum admin > toolbox > housekeeping and click on the ‘Reset Profile Tabs’ button. See if that helps.

Oh – and one other thing. Go to the forum admin > components > subscriptions panel. Make a small edit of some kind. Update the panel. Revert the edit and update the panel again. Let’s make sure the data is saved correctly where we need it.

Yes, I do the suggested manipulation w/o any result.

So, I complety unisntalled SP and re-installed it with Subsciptions and Memship Subscribe puglins. T

That solved the problem. Now, there is again the “Forum Subscriptions” button !

I restored wp_sfposts table but I don’t see the previous posts.

What is missing ?

Thanks.

There are many, many SP tables and all will need to be updated. All tables starting with ‘sf’ in fact.
One of the problems doing what you have done is that we will sadly never now know what the issue was… but if you recreate all of the tables as needed it might just come back. It was almost certainly some sort of data proplem and that means stored in a table somewhere…
