Support Forum
Hi - I'm brand new to SimplePress and forums in general. I installed SimplePress on my wordpress blog and it said it had an "Invalid Header", but it's in my admin bar and I "installed" from there "just fine", it seems. However, now I"m trying to install plugins and it's coming up with this:
"The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found"
Any suggestions? If using simplepress involves FTP, etc, I guess I just won't be able to use it.. so I"d rather know now before I go any further - thanks in advance for your time and patience.
Hi I've just downloaded simple-press-5.0.0-7960 . I'm running WordPress 3.3.1.
I first tried to up-load and activate thbe plug-in - but got the "Invalid Header" error (as above).
After reading this thread I unpacked the zip file and ftp'd it onto my site and then tried to activate it - I then get the folowing error
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare sp_get_option() (previously declared in /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/umcollab/public_html/walk/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lib/template-tags-deprecated.php:236) in /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/umcollab/public_html/walk/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/sp-api/sp-api-primitives.php on line 91
any sugestions appreciated.

... tried removing all Simple Press files and re-installing - get same error on activation ...

presumably this is some conflict with "the events calendar" plugin - is there a way of preventing this?
I've jjust discovered anotherf thread which confirms my suspicions ...
http://support.makedesignnotwa.....get_option
two plugins are using the same function name - sp_get_option() - presumably I can rename this in one of the plugin's code - but is there a more elegant solution?
it is rare but it can happen of course.
What is aid on the other thread - and nobody seemed to take any notice - was that the message says the file in question is 'template-tags-deprecated.php' which means old and should no longer be used. So if you are not using the can they not be removed or renamed?
