1. I've noted that Simple:Press plugins are handled differently than traditional WP plugins, and that performance should not (?) be impacted by the addition of SP plugins. If you would, please give me a comfort level regarding installation of SP plugins. For performance reasons, we are very judicious about the use of plugins -- should I be cautious with your plugins as well, or are they a different beast?
2. Admin Bar -- I've installed, but don't see it (I am logged-in as as an admin). What should I be looking for?
3. Unanswered -- I've installed, but don't see it (I am logged-in as as an admin). This plugin references 'adding a template and display functions', but since there are no docs I have no idea what this means. I've also installed the Tags plugin.
Thanks!
No Docs? http://codex.simple-press.com/.....e-plugins/
I would start there for the plugins you have activated.
Not sure what sort of 'comfort level' I can give. Like it or not, every plugin you add to WP adds code and overhead - that is the nature of the beast. We try very hard to limit code loading outside of where it is needed but the way WP works you have to load some code just to find out whether the plugin code is needed.
So - as I say - we try and limit the load wherever possible. Most SP plugins actually have quite a small footprint if not being called or used on the page being loaded.
