Plugins not visible after uploading

I've installed SP and downloaded the Plugins. I've unzipped them, created the sp-resources/forum-plugins/ and uploaded the plugins to that wp-content folder via FTP. However, when I go to the Plugins section of the SP Admin area, there are no available plugins.

I've verified that the storage location is correct and matches the file directory in which I uploaded the Plugins. I've searched this forum and found other people asking the same question, and I have followed the advice given but am still having issues.

Please can someone advise me? TIA

so you can actually see the sp admin panels for themes and plugins? if so, good...

then go to your server and check the owner of the sp-resources folder... the owner will be of the form name:name... please check it and see if it matches the plugins dir...

Yes, I can actually see the sp admin panels for the themes and plugins.

I have gone to my server and have found this to be what I believe is the owner of the sp-resources folder "wp-content".

So the directory looks like this: wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins  and each plugin is contained in its own subdirectory under forum-plugins. Buy yet neither the plugins nor the themes that I uploaded to the forum-themes folder are visible in the sp admin panels.

No. not the parent directory...  but the owner... its a user on your server (ie root)...  from ssh, you would do 'ls -la'

Thank you Mr Papa for trying to help me, but I think I'm even more confused now. Where on my server would find the user/owner? I'm also not understanding what 'ssh' and 'ls-la' stand for?

(Sorry I'm a newb, but I am trying to learn as fast as I can)

To be honest if you don't know your way about in this area (and I am bit dumb when it comes to this stuff!) I would ask your hosting support. They can check the ownership on the folder and correct if necessary

Thank you for reply. I was able to contact my hosting company and they were finally able to assist me.
