Hello I hope you can help me.

I have been using Simple press on my Site http://www.gtplr.co.uk to run our gaming forum with great succes and have decided today to move to Silver subscription to bag the Private Messaging plugin.

However as soon as the plugin is activated it crashes my site, with no access to the forum or more worringly the dashboard. If I remove the plugin DIR from file structure on host all runs as normal.

Now i am not a PHP whizz and can just about grasp the basics and have found these lines in the SP Toolbox error log.

ile: nweb15/g/gtplr.co.uk/user/problem-with-post-edit-buttontdocs/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/private-messaging1/sp-pm-plugin.php

line: 328

function: sp_pm_user_class

Warning | include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening '/problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/linweb15/g/gtplr.co.uk/user/problem-with-post-edit-buttontdocs/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/private-messaging/library/sp-pm-components.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php')

file: nweb15/g/gtplr.co.uk/user/problem-with-post-edit-buttontdocs/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/private-messaging1/sp-pm-plugin.php

line: 107

function: sp_pm_uninstall_option

Warning | include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening '/problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/linweb15/g/gtplr.co.uk/user/problem-with-post-edit-buttontdocs/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/private-messaging/sp-pm-uninstall.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php')

If anyone could shed some light on the above and help to get the PM plugin working I would be most grtaeful.

btw I am using the Astronova theme by Jinsona.

Many thanks

You will see from the messages above that the PM plugin seems to have installed itself into a folder named 'private-messaging1' and this SHOULD just be 'private-messaging'.
If you change the name of the folder in the SP plugins folder then all should be well. Uninstall the current one. Change the name of the folder and then activate again.

Keep an eye out for that problem. We are pretty sure it is related to the WP core tools we are using and it only seems to pop up now and then for the odd user - but so far we have been unable to isolate the EXACT chain of events and conditions under which it rears it's head.

As a general rule NO SP plugins have a numeric ending like that in the folder name.
