Hi there,
I just installed the Policy Document Plugin today and have encountered the following problems:
1. When I copied and pasted the text onto the "Registration Policy Statement Text Box" on the back end, the Usage Policy document appeared on the front end but with NO TEXT found within the document. I even tried to upload the text file directly to htdocs/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-policies but again, no text shown up.
2. Also, when I selected "Accept policy to register" and clicked on the register button, it brings me to the default WP register page. Few days ago I had changed from the default to a specific register page. It seems that the "Accept policy to register" option takes precedence over the modified setting. Is there a way to change the default register page to a specific register page in this plugin?
Here's a link to my forum: http://www.moderndragons.com/f.....ms/policy/
Thanks for the help!
Salina
are you sure you are not confusing the register policy and the privacy policy? the registration policy will only show up in the registration form...
might be worth showing us a screenshot of you policy doc settings...

not sure what you mean by above... all registration is done via wp - we dont have a special one except for displaying the policy before going to the wp registration page...

Hi,
I couldn't attach the screenshot with this post, so I have uploaded it to Picasa. Please see the screen shot here: https://picasaweb.google.com/l.....directlink
There was an instruction on the policy setting that said If not using a text file you can use the area below for your statement. I've followed the instruction and as you can see in the screen shot, I've included the text in the text box. But no text was being shown on the front end.
In regards to point number 2, I've done this few days ago. https://simple-press.com/suppo.....t-working/
Basically, when the registration button was clicked, users will be taken to the destined registration page instead of the default WP page. However, once I activated the policy plugin, the registration button no longer takes users to the the destined registration page. So I'm asking your advice on how to modify the registration button on this plugin that can fix this problem.
Thanks,
Salina
so I assume you have a file called Community-Guidelines in the location you specified for policy docs on forum - integration - page and permalink?? the file name is case specific... and since you dont have an extension on the filename, assume the filename also does not have an extension???
and since you listed a filename, it wont take the text you entered... it will look for the specified filename...
what do you mean by 'destined registration page'???
if you are using another plugin for registration, or have created your own registration page, you wont be able to use the policy docs registration stuff with it... It expects to be using the standard wp registration stuff... you will have to pick between your custom registration stuff or the policy docs registration...

Hi All,
Is there a way to make the pop-up policy box smaller? It is rather large on my screen so that I need to move the box down to close it with the X. I'm using a text file in the ../sp-resources/forum-policies folder. Smaller text would be great too!
Many thanks,
John

Hey John,
Changing the size of the popups can be done two ways really. The first is to change it in the stylesheet using !important, and the second is to change it in the plugin template. But note that the popup's all use the ui-dialog class, and the size is as standard controlled by a set width (in the template) and an automatic height.
The advantage to changing it in the stylesheet, is that you can make a child theme so your change isn't overwritten by future updates, but this changes it universally so every popup will be the same size (the popups are not individually labeled)
Changing it in the plugin template is probably the better option, but it does mean that the change could be reverted upon an update. I can walk you through doing this is if you wish, but please start a new topic as this is unrelated to the OP.
The font-size can be controlled in the style-sheet by adding a font-size to the ui-dialog class in your theme's style sheet (if default theme, forum-themes > default > styles > default.php)
